Short Blurb to Writing

What am I learning in the process of exploring how to make a little side money as a freelancer?

Well, first, I am terrified! However, reading up on other people that have also been beginners treading new water in an uncertain place (such as freelancing) has clearly revealed that this is normal. It should be expected that no matter what we start, when we start it, looking forward from the beginning is to look into the void – nothingness. There is no substance yet to look back on, there is nothing clearly defined showing the way.

Besides the feelings piercing me from looking into the void, I’m learning that really the best way to make money writing is to start writing more.

Personally, I’ve now had this blog for a number of years and have only written on it occasionally. Beginning to write more consistently is now a goal of mine. This goal is going to start here, on this blog, because these are personal musings, topics I wish to write about, with no strong attachment to gain.

Looking ahead from here, I can see that what is important is to write to find myself first and foremost. It may be that “great writers can write about anything,” but no writer writes about everything. How can I begin to write an online journal, an online blog, which will reveal myself to myself, as well as open up this revelation of the Fool to the world of the internet.

I know where to go from here. Create. Write. Publish. Be seen.

For me, this endeavor is not only a means to reveal myself to myself, to open up through writing, to develop writing skills more deeply, but also to lead towards a future where I can give myself fully to other people. Maybe by giving myself to others on this platform by writing, I can begin to give myself to others more fully in other avenues.

So, to leave myself with a note. Write! It need not be so serious all the time.
